Privacy Policy

Overview

Signal & Noise ("the App") is a mobile pattern recognition game developed by Hearth & Hammer, LLC, operating under the Forgebound Labs game studio label. We want you to know exactly what happens with your data, so this page spells it out in plain language.

The Short Version

• Your game lives on your device. We don't run servers that store your progress, and we don't collect your name, email, or contacts.
• The App shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Google collects some device and ad data to show and measure those ads.
• You're in control. You choose whether to allow tracking, and buying Remove Ads turns the ad service off entirely.

Data We Collect

Signal & Noise doesn't collect, store, or transmit personal information to us. Your high scores, gameplay statistics, settings, and purchase status are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage and are never sent to our servers.

The App does use two third-party services, described below. Those services receive limited data to do their jobs.

Third-Party Services

• Google AdMob. Shows optional rewarded ads (round retry, signal reveal, and slow time). AdMob may collect device identifiers (including your device's advertising identifier, but only if you allow tracking), your IP address (used to estimate your general location), ad interactions, and crash and performance diagnostics. Google uses this data to show and measure ads and for analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
• Apple StoreKit. Processes the Remove Ads purchase. Transactions are handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your payment information.

Tracking and Your Choices

• Tracking permission. The first time you tap a rewarded ad, the App asks once whether it may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. The reward goes ahead whatever you answer. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," your advertising identifier isn't shared and you'll still see ads, just not ones personalized by that tracking. You can change this any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• Remove Ads. Buying Remove Ads turns ads off entirely. The App doesn't start the ad service at all, so AdMob receives nothing.

In-App Purchases

Signal & Noise offers a one-time "Remove Ads" in-app purchase. When purchased, all advertisements are permanently removed from the App. This purchase is processed and managed by Apple. We don't collect or store any payment information.

Children's Privacy

Signal & Noise is a general-audience game and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App doesn't require an account and has no chat or social features. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service in the App, please contact us.

Data Retention

We don't hold personal data, so there's nothing for us to retain. Scores and settings stored on your device are removed when you delete the App. Data received by Google and Apple is retained under their own policies, linked above.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or object to the use of your personal information, or to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we don't store personal data ourselves, the fastest controls are the ones on your device: the Tracking setting, deleting the App, and Google's own privacy tools. If you'd like help with any of these, contact us and we'll do what we can.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
